About Us
in short
Nanolithic Digital is an independent game developer, publisher, and digital asset creation studio. Our work will offer chances to increase gaming skills, provide a creative outlet to foster wonder and accomplishment, and help support the ever-changing industry that fuels a vast array of content creation channels
Our Design Principles
Design With Variety
From art, to sound, to challenges and mechanics, variety is at the core of any Nanolithic experience. Discovery and wonder flourish when designs support rich variety within their elements
Challenge Over Tedium
In a Nanolithic game, meaningful challenges are created to allow a satisfying sense of accomplishment. Tedious, repetitive tasks can take time away from creativity and discovery, so their presence should be minimal
Optimized Interaction
The Nanolithic approach to experience design requires that interactions are clear, intuitive, and optimized. This goes hand-in-hand with avoiding tedium as it applies to both the user interface and game mechanics
Place and Purpose
In order to unify Nanolithic designs and help game worlds feel more alive, everything must have a reason for being. Logical structure governs the place and purpose of elements, and is often grounded in reality
Hey There!

Marshall Kadlec
Owner, Designer, Developer, Artist
I'm an Engineering Manager by trade (before that I was a developer for 5 years). Art and games have been a passion of mine since I was small, playing with paper cut outs and moving them around by hand. That grew into programming around middle school when I started experimenting in Adobe Flash (if you remember when that was a thing hah). Later, through University and into my professional career, I've created many small games and experiences, but only (briefly) published one of them. I have a soft spot for retro art styles (if you couldn't tell) and want to go forward making more things that I enjoy, making them available for everyone.
